Arranging transportation for a funeral is something most people do while managing a great deal else, and usually at short notice. The intention of this page is to make that one task straightforward.
What we provide
We provide chauffeured vehicles for family and guests: transport from home to the funeral home or place of worship, on to the cemetery or crematorium, and afterwards to a reception. We are not a funeral home and we do not provide a hearse. We work alongside the funeral director you have chosen and take direction from their schedule.
Why families arrange cars
- Immediate family can travel together rather than following in separate vehicles.
- Elderly relatives are collected at the door and helped in and out.
- Nobody in the family has to drive on a day when they should not have to.
- The procession stays together between locations.
Short notice is normal
Funeral arrangements move quickly and dates are often confirmed only a few days ahead. Contact us as soon as you have a date and we will do what we can. If we cannot cover it, we will say so immediately rather than leaving you waiting on an answer.
How our chauffeurs conduct themselves
Vehicles are presented plainly, without decoration. Chauffeurs dress in dark formal attire, keep conversation to what is necessary, assist with doors and mobility, and stay with the vehicle. They will follow the funeral director's instructions on procession order and timing without needing to be managed by the family.
Practical details we will ask for
The funeral home and the officiant's schedule, the number of passengers, whether anyone uses a mobility aid, and the full sequence of locations. If a reception follows at a home or restaurant, tell us and we will include the return.
Arranging transportation
Call us and we will keep the conversation brief and practical. For families also managing hospital or care home visits, our visits service for seniors and families covers that ongoing need.
