Oakville and Burlington sit along the QEW between Toronto and Hamilton, and they share a particular travel pattern: affluent lakeside communities, a commuting population that works in several directions, and a choice of three airports.
Three airports, one decision
- Toronto Pearson (YYZ) — the widest route network, reached via the QEW and 403 or the 407.
- Hamilton (YHM) — closer, smaller and far quicker through the terminal.
- Buffalo (BUF) — worth considering for some United States routes, with the border as the variable.
For a family flying from Burlington, Hamilton is frequently the better experience even when the fare is comparable. We serve all three.
The QEW is the constraint
The stretch of the QEW through Oakville and Burlington is among the busiest in the province, and the Burlington Skyway adds its own reliability problem: when it closes or slows, the alternatives are limited and everyone uses them at once. Summer weekends bring additional traffic heading toward Niagara. We plan around this rather than assuming a clear run.
Lakeside venues and events
Downtown Oakville, Bronte Harbour and the Burlington waterfront host a great many weddings and private events, and several of the venues have genuinely limited parking. Guest shuttles from nearby hotels are the standard solution and they work well over short distances.
Corporate travel
Both towns have a substantial population of executives who commute into Toronto or Mississauga and travel frequently. Regular airport transfers on a corporate account, with the same standard of vehicle each time, is the most common arrangement we set up here.
