Newmarket and Aurora sit in northern York Region along the Yonge Street and Highway 404 corridors. They are far enough from Toronto to feel separate and close enough that a great many residents travel into the city and out through Pearson regularly.
The journey south
Airport trips from Newmarket and Aurora are longer than most GTA transfers and depend heavily on Highway 404 and then either the 401 or the 407. The 404 southbound in the morning peak carries the full weight of the northern commute, and it is the section most likely to cost you time. For an early flight, that argues for either leaving before the peak builds or taking the 407 across.
Why on-demand is unreliable here
- Vehicle supply thins considerably north of Richmond Hill in the early hours.
- A long airport fare is not attractive to a driver already far from the city.
- Cancellations at five in the morning leave no practical fallback.
A pre-booked chauffeur is a committed arrangement rather than a request into a marketplace, which is the whole reason people in this part of the region book ahead.
Historic downtowns and local events
Both towns have well-preserved historic main streets that host weddings, anniversaries and community events through the year. Parking near these venues is limited, and shuttles from nearby hotels are a common and effective solution.
Estate venues and rural addresses
North of both towns the roads become rural quickly, and several popular wedding and event venues sit well back from unlit concession roads. These are the addresses where an unfamiliar driver loses time after dark. We confirm the approach and the gate in advance.
