Mississauga is Canada's seventh-largest city and, for ground transportation purposes, the most important suburb in the country. Toronto Pearson International sits inside its boundaries, which makes it both a major origin for airport travel and the place most GTA airport journeys pass through.
A city built around the car
Mississauga developed as a driving city, and it shows. Distances between the City Centre, Port Credit, Streetsville, Meadowvale and Malton are substantial, and transit between them is slower than the map suggests. For a business visitor moving between offices in a day, a chauffeured vehicle is usually the only practical option.

The corollary is that traffic around the airport affects Mississauga more than anywhere else, particularly on Airport Road, Dixie and Eglinton during peak periods.
Corporate Mississauga
The city hosts a dense concentration of corporate head offices, particularly in pharmaceuticals, aerospace and logistics, much of it clustered around the airport and along the 401 and 403 corridors. Weddings and events along the lake
Port Credit and the Lakeshore corridor host a great many weddings and celebrations, and the venues there have limited parking. Guest shuttles between hotel and venue are common and they solve the problem cleanly.
