Vaughan has changed considerably in a short time. The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre gave the city a genuine downtown and a subway connection, and the communities within it, Woodbridge, Maple, Thornhill and Kleinburg, each have their own character and their own transportation habits.
Woodbridge weddings and celebrations
Woodbridge has a long-established banquet hall and event venue tradition, and the celebrations held there are large. Wedding parties of a size that need a coach rather than a limousine are routine, and guest shuttles between hotels and halls are common. Venue parking fills quickly at these events, which is the practical reason most organisers arrange transport.
Highway geography
- Highway 400 runs north to south through the city and is the main route to Pearson.
- Highway 407 provides an east-west alternative that is often worth the toll on a tight schedule.
- Highway 7 and Major Mackenzie carry heavy local traffic through peak periods.

The office concentration around the VMC has grown quickly, and with it corporate demand for airport transfers and client transport. The area is well connected but a visiting executive with luggage and a schedule is better served door to door.
Kleinburg and the north
Kleinburg and the surrounding area have a quite different feel, with country properties, galleries and estate wedding venues set back on rural roads. These addresses are the ones most often mishandled by drivers relying on a map alone, particularly after dark.
